Senior Software Developer – AI‑Enabled Enterprise Solutions

About the role

As a Senior Software Developer at Kuehne+Nagel, you will design, build, and maintain mission‑critical applications that power global logistics operations. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, high‑performing solutions while exploring how artificial intelligence can reshape development processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise software using modern development practices.
• Lead technical investigations, troubleshoot complex production issues, and perform root‑cause analysis for distributed systems.
• Analyze business requirements, identify dependencies and risks, and contribute to solution architecture and design decisions.
• Ensure software quality through code reviews, automated testing, performance optimisation, and continuous refactoring.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and knowledge repositories using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Wiki.
• Leverage AI tools to improve engineering efficiency, automate development workflows, and enhance code quality.
• Mentor junior developers and collaborate with product owners, architects, UX designers, and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Several years of experience delivering enterprise‑grade software solutions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
• Passion for applying AI to improve software development processes.

Required skills

• Experience with AI‑enabled development tools and services.
