Senior Software Engineer - Finance Core Accounting

About the role

Wise is building a new cross‑border banking platform and needs a senior engineer to shape its Core Accounting services. You will work on high‑throughput financial ledgers, aggregation pipelines, and third‑party integrations in a fast‑growing fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test micro‑service applications using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka and React.
• Contribute to the ledger‑as‑a‑service platform and financial aggregation pipelines.
• Own integration with third‑party financial systems and ensure reliable data flow.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional squads to deliver timely, accurate, and controlled financial reporting.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Take part in team ceremonies, planning cycles, and technical roadmap definition.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering large‑scale backend projects (8+ engineering weeks).
• Strong architectural sense with ability to design scalable, maintainable systems.
• Full‑stack competence, especially strong backend expertise.
• Commitment to system reliability and performance.
