Test Automation Engineer

About the role

Relax is looking for a Test Automation Engineer to own quality across its real‑money poker server stack. You will work closely with server engineers to build an automated safety net that enables rapid, confident changes to a live gaming platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own the automated test strategy for unit, integration, end‑to‑end and regression testing.
• Grow and maintain CI/CD test coverage and keep pipelines green and fast.
• Identify and hunt down edge cases, define quality gates and metrics.
• Partner early with developers and embed testing into the development flow.
• Triage, reproduce, and clearly document defects.

Required profile

• Proven QA automation experience for backend or distributed systems, especially where correctness is critical (gaming, fintech, payments, trading, betting).
• Strong Python skills for test harnesses and simulations; comfortable reading Java codebases.
• Hands‑on experience with message‑driven or asynchronous systems such as RabbitMQ/AMQP, Kafka or SQS.
• Confidence writing SQL and validating state across relational and NoSQL stores (MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Practical experience using Docker and Docker Compose to spin up multi‑service test environments.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Detail‑oriented mindset and willingness to use AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot) for test authoring and triage.
• Domain knowledge of poker or real‑money gaming is a plus, or a strong eagerness to learn.
