Embedded Camera Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Camera Systems Engineer to debug and resolve complex camera driver and interface issues on TI TDA4 (Jacinto) SoC platforms. The role bridges hardware signal debugging, embedded Linux driver development, and automotive vision systems.

Key responsibilities

• Debug intermittent and persistent camera capture issues (frame corruption, drops, sync failures) on MIPI CSI-2 links.
• Analyze protocol‑level traces (D‑PHY/C‑PHY) using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol decoders.
• Modify Linux kernel V4L2 sub‑device drivers, media controller pipelines, and device‑tree camera bindings.
• Work with TI Processor SDK, Vision Apps, and TIOVX frameworks to resolve capture/ISP pipeline problems.
• Collaborate with hardware/PCB teams on signal‑integrity challenges such as lane skew, termination, and EMI.
• Integrate and validate third‑party image sensors and GMSL/FPD‑Link serializer‑deserializer bridges.
• Document root‑cause analyses and drive fixes to closure with sensor vendors, TI, or internal teams.
• Support automotive functional‑safety documentation (ISO 26262) where applicable.

Required profile

• 5+ years of embedded Linux driver development experience with direct MIPI CSI‑2 camera work.
• Strong understanding of CSI‑2 protocol layers, packet structures, virtual channels, and error‑checking mechanisms.
• Proven ability to isolate issues across sensor, PHY, driver, and ISP layers.
• Experience with TI Jacinto (TDA4VM/TDA4VH) platforms, Processor SDK, and TIOVX/Vision Apps.
• Familiarity with automotive functional‑safety standards (ISO 26262) is a plus.
