Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Backend Engineer based in Tallinn, you will design, build, and deploy Bolt's core backend services. The role focuses on creating scalable APIs and complex algorithms for demand prediction, real‑time pricing, routing, fraud detection, and distributed systems, primarily using Node.js and TypeScript.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, and deploy high‑performance backend systems.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create scalable APIs that meet product needs.
• Lead features and initiatives from concept through successful execution.
• Work closely with product teams to break down scope and deliver incremental value.
• Contribute ideas to the product roadmap and provide constructive feedback.
• Share knowledge through tech talks and promote engineering best practices across the team.

Required profile

• Familiarity with real‑time, asynchronous systems and highly available infrastructure is a plus.
