Senior Software Engineer (Data Platform)

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will lead the design and implementation of the bank’s core data infrastructure. You will build end‑to‑end pipelines that ingest, process, store and share data across the Pan‑Baltic organization, ensuring reliability, performance and security.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and continuously improve data ingestion, processing, storage and sharing systems.
• Build and optimise scalable data architectures and high‑performance ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Integrate data across domains using real‑time, event‑driven and batch solutions.
• Maintain data quality, security, availability and monitoring.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers and business stakeholders to translate data needs into robust solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues and implement automated testing and DevOps practices.
• Drive technical improvements within an Agile, cross‑functional team.

Required profile

• Proven experience building data platforms and pipelines in a complex, regulated environment.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives independently.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
• Experience in the banking or financial services domain is a strong advantage.

• SQL and Python programming.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Container orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker.
• Streaming technologies: Kafka, Spark, Flink.
• Data pipeline tools: Airflow, dbt.
• Data warehousing: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks.
• Both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Test automation, DevOps, infrastructure‑as‑code and security best practices.
