System Engineer

About the role

Join Nexi’s IT team in Tallinn to design, build and maintain the core infrastructure that powers digital payments. As a System Engineer you will ensure the reliability, security and performance of servers, networks and related services.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain and continuously improve the company’s network and infrastructure environment.
• Manage servers, workstations, storage systems, load balancers, network switches and credential‑management solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, networking and operating‑system issues, with a primary focus on Linux.
• Provide technical support to end users and assist with internal system and service problems.
• Perform user‑account administration and asset‑management activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure stable, secure and efficient IT operations.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Linux operating systems.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including the TCP/IP protocol stack and the ISO/OSI model.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Good communication skills and fluency in English.
