AML Investigations Team Lead

About the role

Wise is looking for an AML Investigations Team Lead to join its team in Tallinn. The role helps identify suspicious activity and ensures compliance, leading a team of investigators in Tallinn while collaborating with a larger team spread across five offices worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of AML Investigators, providing the tools and training they need and fostering an inclusive, positive environment.
• Help the team identify and analyse suspicious payment patterns and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
• Measure and improve team KPIs so the team meets performance metrics and regulatory standards.
• Initiate and support operational process changes, collaborate with other leads, product teams and developers, and look for opportunities for automation and better customer experience.
• Set personal development plans, recognise team contributions and build a culture of trust, respect and inclusivity.
• Check in regularly on team well-being, give constructive feedback and handle conflicts effectively.

Required profile

• Excellent written and spoken English, able to explain complex concepts clearly.
• 2+ years of experience leading and developing teams in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of AML or FinCrime fields.
• Ability to understand and improve team metrics and to work with specialists in different areas.
• Proven ownership, responsibility and teamwork, plus excellent communication and presentation skills for internal and external projects and audits.

• Salary range of 3,450 - 4,500 EUR.
