Control Expert (Compliance)

About the role

Luminor is looking for a Control Expert for Compliance in Tallinn. The role leads targeted assurance activities, develops the Independent Assurance framework, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, guides team members and manages stakeholder relationships. The employer prefers candidates already living in the Baltics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and perform targeted or ad-hoc independent assurance activities
• Serve as a subject matter expert in the assigned areas and maintain industry relations
• Design, develop and maintain the Independent Assurance framework and methodology
• Identify improvements to assurance processes, propose tailored solutions and follow up on gaps and remediation actions
• Guide Assurance Department employees and ensure quality documentation
• Contribute to compliance risk assessment and internal and external reporting
• Escalate risks and plan and prioritise assurance activities in the department
• Coordinate tasks and projects with stakeholders in Luminor with little guidance and take part in Compliance Division activities

Required profile

• Higher education in Internal Audit, Law, Economics, Business Management, Finance or a related field
• At least 5-7 years of experience in compliance assurance activities
• Extensive knowledge of best practices for managing compliance risks in banking
• Good understanding of banking products, processes and IT systems
• Expert knowledge of European and Baltic regulations
• Ability to work independently, strong stakeholder management and quick learning

Required skills

• Advanced English; excellent Latvian, Lithuanian or Estonian
• Preferred certifications in Internal Audit, Sanctions and/or AML

What we offer

• Gross salary of 4,200-6,650 EUR per month, depending on experience and competencies
