Head of Performance

About the role

As Head of Performance you will own Bolt’s performance‑management mechanism end‑to‑end, providing the analytical infrastructure that enables faster, data‑driven talent decisions. Reporting to the VP of People & Workplace, you will be the go‑to partner for senior leaders seeking defensible answers on performance strength and its commercial impact.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanics to separate real performance signal from rating inflation and manager bias, including analytical detection of anomalies.
• Build the link between individual goals and business metrics, ensuring goal cascades align with financial accountability.
• Own calibration as a governance function, guaranteeing consistent, evidence‑based, fair ratings across the organisation.
• Develop real‑time performance reporting for leadership and translate insights into promotion, reward and talent‑investment recommendations.
• Provide performance data for org‑design and workforce‑planning decisions.

Required profile

• Background in strategy consulting (MBB or equivalent) and experience in a high‑growth technology or consumer business.
• Proven ability to build defensible analytical cases and present them to senior stakeholders who push back.
• Fluent with data and capable of building models that show business consequences of talent decisions without relying on others.
• Experience influencing C‑suite level stakeholders directly with own analysis.
• Comfortable holding managers accountable for honest, differentiated assessments.
