KYC Operations Senior Analyst - Senior Management Approval

About the role

Wise is hiring a KYC Operations Senior Analyst for its Tallinn Senior Management Approval team. The role ensures that Wise meets regulatory and compliance requirements by conducting enhanced due diligence, analysing customer activity and behaviour patterns, and keeping KYC records up to date. It covers assessing and approving onboarding of AML High Risk customers and customers with contacts with High Risk third countries and Low Tax Jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve high-risk customer reports against policies and procedures, and analyse customer transaction history and behaviour patterns.
• Conduct in-depth checks using documentation, websites and company registries, and use third-party vendors to research prospects and existing customers.
• Communicate with internal teams on escalated cases, guide peers, frontline staff and management, and draft SAR narratives when warranted.
• Take part in and lead SMA team projects, help update policies, training materials and SOPs, and support internal and external audits.
• Mentor the Senior Management Approval Analyst and communicate with customers by phone, email and chat.
• Meet KPIs, attend meetings and training, and follow the mandatory shift schedule (two weekend shifts, three evening shifts and daytime shifts per month).

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in EDD, AML or a similar financial crime compliance role.
• Good understanding of AML/CFT regulations and customer verification frameworks, preferably from a market Wise operates in.
• Excellent verbal and written English; additional languages are a plus.
• Flexible to work in shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law or a related field, and ICA, CAMS or equivalent certification (EDD/AML focused) are a plus.
• Right to work in Estonia; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Salary of 2,400 to 2,850 EUR gross per month.
