Lead Electronics Design Engineer

About the role

Stoneridge designs and manufactures technologies for vehicle OEMs, including driveline, transmission, vision, emissions control, safety and security systems. As Lead Electronics Design Engineer in Tallinn, you will lead the Electronics Design team of 3-5 people, which develops hardware solutions for vehicle electronics, including PCB-based systems and optical solutions such as the MirrorEye camera-based mirror replacement. You will coordinate the team across projects, set technical priorities and follow progress, quality, costs and deadlines, while staying hands-on in hardware development.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical priorities based on project and business needs.
• Coordinate engineers and resources across projects so responsibilities and priorities are clear.
• Support project planning and follow up on progress, deadlines, quality and costs.
• Improve the team's working methods, tools and processes where needed.
• Work with other engineering functions to solve technical issues and keep projects moving.
• Follow developments in electronics and related technologies and assess their relevance to the products.
• Support knowledge sharing within the team and help engineers work effectively together.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, such as Electronics, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems or a related field.
• Previous experience in hardware and/or electronics engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a technical lead, project lead or similar leadership role.
• Good understanding of hardware and electronics development and how hardware and software work together.
• Hands-on experience with PCB design, including layout, manufacturability and hardware validation.
• Good English communication skills.
• Automotive industry experience is a plus.

Required skills

• PCB design tools such as DxDesigner, PADS, Altium or Siemens Xpedition.
• Advantageous: PPAP, DFMEA, APQP and 8D; RoHS, REACH, ISO 16750, ISO 26262 and R10.
