Network Engineer

About the role

Join Icelandair’s Digital Operations team as a Network Engineer, responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a secure and high‑performing network infrastructure that supports critical airline operations worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, configure and maintain Fortinet firewalls and related security solutions.
• Design and deploy scalable, highly available network architectures.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot incidents and proactively optimise configurations.
• Implement and maintain VPNs, intrusion‑prevention systems and other security controls.
• Apply firmware updates, patches and upgrades to all network devices.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a comparable role.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Fortinet networking and security products.
• Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) or Solution Specialist (FCSS) certification is a strong advantage.
• Experience with Juniper routing, switching and Junos OS is beneficial.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English.
