Policy Researcher

About the role

Soldera is looking for a Policy Researcher to become the internal authority on European renewable energy certificate policy, registry rules, and market access. You will translate complex legislation and regulator guidance into actionable insights for product, legal, trading, and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Research and track national and EU rules, regulator decisions, registry procedures, EECS rules, disclosure frameworks, and Scope 2 requirements that affect Guarantees of Origin (GOs) and other energy‑certificate instruments.
• Convert dense source material into clear, source‑backed answers on account opening, certificate flows, evidence requirements, deadlines, and commercial constraints.
• Maintain up‑to‑date country playbooks, including market reviews, registry‑access requirements, subsidy rules, and source links.
• Support market expansion by providing timely research to product, legal, trading, and commercial teams before entering new countries or launching new workflows.
• Produce customer‑facing research in collaboration with marketing, turning verified policy findings into reports, explainers, market updates, and practical guidance.
• Build a dependable research system that leverages AI for faster search and organization while ensuring every claim is traceable to a primary source and verified by a human.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in energy policy, regulation, public affairs, market research, legal research, or a related field where source quality is critical.
• Ability to read legislation and technical documentation accurately and to distill complex policy questions into concise, well‑cited answers.
• Systematic approach to citations, version control, and unresolved questions, with confidence contacting registries or authorities when clarification is needed.
• Proficiency in using AI tools for research speed while rigorously verifying outputs and avoiding unwarranted certainty.
