About the role

Malwarebytes is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Browser Guard team, an award‑winning browser extension with over 15 million weekly active users. The role focuses on building next‑generation security features, ensuring high‑quality code, and collaborating across product, UX, and QA to deliver a robust roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Develop next‑generation features that protect consumers.
• Write clean, maintainable code using modern technologies and best practices.
• Produce design documents and unit tests to guarantee code quality.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and QA teams to meet ambitious roadmap goals.
• Design and implement key integrations between Malwarebytes systems and products.
• Mentor teammates, conduct code reviews, and communicate proactively.
• Help the team achieve its objectives by supporting peers and sharing knowledge.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and common design patterns.
• Proficiency with React, JavaScript (TypeScript) and Go.
• Experience architecting projects used by millions of clients.
• Comfort with AI‑driven workflows without sacrificing quality.
• Solid experience with Git and regular code‑review processes.
• User‑centric mindset with a focus on UX.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
