Senior Accountant

About the role

Creem is a Merchant of Record for software businesses, handling payments, subscriptions, refunds, chargebacks, sales tax and VAT on behalf of its customers. As the Senior Accountant you will own the day‑to‑day accounting function, from journal entries and reconciliations to month‑end close, AP/AR, tax filings and investor‑focused financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full‑cycle accounting: journal entries, bank reconciliations, month‑end and year‑end close, and preparation of financial statements.
• Manage subscription and recurring‑billing accounting, including revenue recognition across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate financial audits, investor reporting and tax compliance for an Estonian entity operating internationally.
• Design and implement scalable financial processes, tools and reporting frameworks as the first internal finance hire.

Required profile

• Deep payments know‑how – experience with multiple providers, currencies, chargebacks and refunds.
• Strong ownership mindset – ensure month‑end closes on time and proactively flag issues.
• Builder mentality – create processes that can handle 10× volume rather than patching existing ones.
• Precision – maintain accurate numbers for audits, investors and tax filings.
• Familiarity with running an international business through an Estonian entity.
• Curiosity about AI‑powered tools and modern accounting workflows.

Required skills

• Proficiency with modern accounting software.
• Advanced spreadsheet modelling.
• SQL knowledge (bonus).
