Senior Compliance Officer

About the role

As a Senior Compliance Officer you will strengthen Bondora’s second‑line compliance function while the company expands its financial services across Europe and prepares for a banking licence. You will own regulatory change, compliance risk management, policy development and supervisory communication in a fast‑moving fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitoring regulatory developments and assessing impact on products, processes and controls.
• Maintaining and improving compliance policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Conducting compliance risk assessments, second‑line monitoring and follow‑up on remediation actions.
• Advising business, product, legal and management teams on regulatory and compliance matters.
• Preparing compliance opinions, management updates and practical recommendations.
• Supporting communication with supervisory authorities and coordinating regulatory responses.
• Developing compliance training and awareness materials for employees.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law or equivalent legal/regulatory background.
• At least 5 years of experience in compliance, financial services, legal or regulatory advisory, internal control or financial‑sector supervision.
• Strong knowledge of Estonian and EU financial‑services regulation, preferably in consumer credit, fintech or banking.
• Ability to interpret laws, supervisory guidance and turn them into practical business requirements.
• Hands‑on experience drafting policies, procedures, compliance opinions and regulatory responses.
• Excellent written and verbal Estonian and English.
