Senior Software Engineer – Risk Intelligence Platform

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Risk Intelligence Platform, you will work at the intersection of backend engineering, data, and machine learning to build tools that empower Wise’s financial‑crime teams. You will help design, implement and maintain systems that generate high‑quality insights for fraud prevention, AML and sanctions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evolve the platform that supports model experimentation, bias analysis, automated training‑set maintenance and threshold analysis.
• Provide technical guidance to data‑engineering and ML teams, own complex problems across micro‑services, Kafka streams and large‑scale data pipelines.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience with Java (11+ or 21+), strong product mindset and ownership.
• Hands‑on experience with batch/stream processing (e.g., Apache Spark, Flink/Kafka Streams) and both SQL and NoSQL document databases.
