Technical Product Owner

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Product Owner to work closely with engineers on a mission‑critical cloud platform that connects tens of thousands of HVAC devices. You will shape requirements, prioritize work and ensure the platform continues to deliver reliable, real‑time control for technicians and end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritise client requests, align them with business targets and keep the development team focused on the next most valuable work.
• Refine and clarify requirements by reviewing communications, answering client emails and providing developers with clear, actionable tickets.
• Maintain a healthy backlog and roadmap, advising on architectural abstractions that must endure future features.
• Coordinate scope and timelines with other teams and stakeholders dependent on the platform.
• Handle client communication, meetings and discussions, and act as the technical liaison.
• Read code, join technical discussions and understand system behaviour beyond documentation.
• Support hiring, mentoring and team organisation, leveraging AI tools for drafting, analysis and testing while owning final decisions.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience in technology, with a minimum of 5 years of hands‑on software development before moving into a product‑owner or team‑lead role.
• Ability to read and understand code at a working level without relying on developers.
• Knowledge of how web apps, native mobile clients and cloud‑to‑cloud integrations differ in behaviour and constraints.
• Proven experience prioritising work against business goals and translating stakeholder input into actionable tasks.
• Strong independent decision‑making and collaborative skills, fluent in English and Estonian.
