Data Analyst - Internal Audit

About the role

Wise is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Internal Audit branch of the Compliance & Internal Audit Analytics team. The analyst will work closely with Internal Audit to design and execute an analytics strategy that enhances audit coverage, efficiency and insight across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Internal Audit stakeholders across regions, products and domains (Financial Crime, Operations, Risk, Finance, Technology) to identify high‑impact analytics opportunities.
• Develop and implement data‑driven audit tests, continuous‑testing solutions and automation tools.
• Collaborate with analytics engineers and business specialists to explore diverse data sets, apply modern analytical techniques and build monitoring dashboards.
• Champion innovation by introducing AI‑enabled processes, workflow automation and self‑service reporting.
• Provide training and up‑skilling to audit teams on analytical methods and tools.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience in data analytics.
• At least 1 year of analytics work within audit, risk or compliance environments.
• Proven stakeholder‑management skills, able to coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Strong ability to translate business questions into data solutions.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL for building and maintaining complex data sources.
• Data‑visualisation tools (e.g., Looker, Superset) to surface insights.
• Python for advanced analytics and automation.
• Familiarity with dbt for data transformation pipelines.
