Field Engineer – Cranes & Cargo Handling

About the role

Konecranes is looking for a Field Engineer to support installations, inspections, repairs and pre‑commissioning of crane and cargo‑handling equipment worldwide. The position requires frequent international travel (around 80% of the time) and collaboration with cross‑functional teams across different time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installations, inspections, repairs, pre‑commissioning and retrofits of cranes and cargo‑handling equipment.
• Carry out complex maintenance, site supervision, equipment troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of electrical maintenance, installation and supervision experience on cargo‑handling equipment such as RTG, RMG, STS and MHC.
• Strong knowledge of crane electrics and hydraulics, and ability to read advanced diagrams and drawings.
• Proficiency with industrial PLCs, Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal.
• Ability to produce accurate technical and inspection reports and to work effectively in team projects.
• Readiness for extensive travel (80%+), high attention to detail, a relevant vocational or higher education degree, and a category B driving licence.
• English language level B2 or higher.
