Finance Accountant – General Accounting (Tallinn)

About the role

Join the finance team at Wise in Tallinn and support a critical transformation as the company prepares for a US stock exchange listing. The Finance Accountant will work within the General Accounting team, handling month‑end activities, cost of goods sold accruals, investment accounting and other product‑related adjustments.

Key responsibilities

• Actively participate in month‑end activities, focusing on cost of goods sold accruals, investments accounting and product‑related adjustments.
• Collaborate with finance, product and risk teams to understand transactions and calculate accurate accruals.
• Ensure SOX compliance in your domain by working with risk & controls.
• Maintain high‑quality documentation for manual calculations and journal entries.
• Lead improvement projects to increase reliability, efficiency and automation of accounting processes.
• Support external audits by responding to auditor queries and information requests.
• Assist in preparing group‑wide consolidated financial statements.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, financial controlling or audit.
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles and ability to work with large data volumes.
• Advanced Excel skills (expert level) and preferably SQL knowledge.
• Accurate, detail‑oriented and capable of owning projects.
• Good written and verbal English communication.
