Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

Join a global consulting team to lead the modernization of legacy mainframe applications on Google Cloud Platform. You will work closely with client stakeholders to translate business‑critical legacy systems into modern, cloud‑native solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and drive application modernization initiatives, re‑architecting legacy and mainframe‑class systems into Java, Go, or .NET on GCP.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Communicate with client stakeholders to understand and convey the business impact of modernization efforts.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization and re‑architecting legacy systems.
• Strong background in data architecture on GCP, especially BigQuery and data pipelines.
• Consulting or professional services experience with client‑facing project delivery.
• Experience with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
• Excellent requirements‑gathering and test‑driven design skills.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
