Head of Controlling

About the role

Verston Group seeks an experienced Head of Group Controlling to provide the management team with a clear view of performance and future direction. Reporting to the Group CFO, you will consolidate controlling information across all group companies and own budgeting, reporting and cash‑flow forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Build a consistent controlling framework across all group entities, ensuring reliable financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Monitor project margins, cost‑to‑complete, cash flow and risks, identifying deviations early and coordinating corrective actions.
• Coordinate annual budgets, rolling forecasts and long‑term financial models aligned with group strategy.
• Deliver management dashboards, financial analysis and performance reports to support strategic decisions.
• Drive automation and digitalisation of financial processes and establish group‑wide standards.

Required profile

• 10+ years of finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior controlling or FP&A leadership role.
• Strong commercial thinking, hands‑on leadership style and ability to influence CEOs, CFOs and operational leaders.
• Experience in project‑based or production businesses such as construction, infrastructure, engineering or energy.
• International experience with willingness to travel regularly, especially to Poland.

Required skills

• Financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and group financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems, business intelligence tools and financial process automation.
