About the role
As a High Risk Assessment Specialist at Wise, you will ensure the company meets regulatory and compliance standards by evaluating and mitigating risks linked to high‑risk customers.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the escalation point for complex compliance cases, applying sophisticated risk‑based methodologies to assess high‑risk customers.
- Conduct deep‑dive investigations and Enhanced Due Diligence on intricate business structures, documenting thorough risk assessments.
- Mentor and consult compliance operations teams, sharing expertise on AML, sanctions, KYC and related policies.
- Develop new risk‑mitigation methods and improve the compliance framework in collaboration with Product and FinCrime teams.
Required profile
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience conducting complex investigations within a Financial Crime team (AML, sanctions or fraud).
- Strong understanding of regional and global regulatory requirements and risk‑based approaches.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to work autonomously, consolidate disparate information and make defensible decisions on complex cases.
