OpenStack Engineering Manager

About the role

This role offers an opportunity to lead a distributed engineering team responsible for operating modern private‑cloud infrastructure for customers worldwide. You will combine technical leadership with people management, service delivery, and continuous engineering improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow an engineering team that manages day‑to‑day customer environments, balancing development and operational priorities.
• Improve engineering quality and delivery velocity by establishing effective processes, practices, and team workflows.
• Monitor team health indicators and use insights to boost performance, collaboration and operational effectiveness.
• Represent the team with customers, internal stakeholders, product engineering groups and external teams.
• Ensure customer deployments meet agreed service‑level requirements and that managed services are delivered consistently and on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technology‑related field.
• Proven experience in software delivery using languages such as Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or managing technical operations teams.
• Professional experience working with OpenStack and Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian preferred).
• Strong understanding of software testing, maintainable code and engineering quality practices.
• Experience leading geographically distributed teams and strong stakeholder management skills.
