Principal Software Engineer – Browser Guard

About the role

Malwarebytes is seeking a collaborative, motivated Principal Software Engineer to join the Browser Guard engineering team, which powers an award‑winning browser extension used by over 15 million weekly active users.

Key responsibilities

• Develop next‑generation features to protect consumers.
• Write high‑quality code using best practices, design documents and unit tests.
• Collaborate with Product, UX and QA to deliver roadmap items on time.
• Design and develop integrations between Malwarebytes systems and products.
• Mentor team members, conduct code reviews and proactively communicate.

Required profile

• Team‑oriented, self‑motivated with a “can‑do” attitude.
• Strong ownership mindset and focus on performance.
• Excellent communication, debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
• Proficiency in React, JavaScript (TypeScript) and Go.
• Experience architecting projects used by millions of clients.
• Familiarity with AI workflows, Git and regular code reviews.
• UX‑centric mindset and test‑driven development.
