Regulatory Lead Legal Officer

About the role

Coinspaid Solutions is a fintech company building blockchain payment infrastructure, with a team of 350+ professionals working remotely. It is looking for a Regulatory Lead Legal Officer to lead regulatory legal support across payments and digital assets, with a focus on MiCA, PSD2, PSD3/PSR and related EU frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the Group's products, services and operating model.
• Conduct regulatory gap assessments and lead the implementation of required legal and operational changes.
• Advise on new products, customer journeys, partnerships and business models from a regulatory perspective.
• Perform regulatory perimeter, licensing and market-entry assessments across relevant jurisdictions.
• Lead licensing and authorization projects, including preparing applications and coordinating responses to regulators.
• Manage regulatory enquiries, inspections and requests for information.
• Develop and maintain regulatory positions, legal memoranda, internal guidance and implementation plans.
• Review merchant, partner and outsourcing arrangements and relevant data protection matters.
• Work with Compliance, AML, Risk, Product and Operations teams.
• Manage external legal counsel, including scope, deliverables, timelines and budget.
• Lead, review and prioritize the regulatory legal team's work and support team development.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a law firm, Big Four advisory practice, financial institution, fintech or crypto business.
• Proven ability to conduct regulatory impact and gap assessments and to turn legal requirements into practical business solutions.
• Experience managing complex, cross-border workstreams and interacting with regulators, external counsel and senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team members and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the EU payment services and digital assets framework, especially MiCA, PSD2 and PSD3/PSR.
• Hands-on experience with regulatory licensing, market entry and new product launches.
• Good understanding of AML/CTF, DORA, outsourcing and data protection.
• Analytical, legal drafting and problem-solving skills with a commercial approach.
