Senior Backend Engineer (C#/.Net)

About the role

Riverty, a FinTech company within the Bertelsmann group, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (C#/.Net) to join its Stockholm or Tallinn team. Hybrid working conditions are available. The company offers flexible payment options to consumers and helps merchants get steady, predictable cashflow.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and ship robust, maintainable and readable software, applications, APIs and workflows
• Take part in technical architecture design and communicate it
• Join regular scrum ceremonies as a member of an agile cross-functional team
• Analyse and implement business requirements with good documentation
• Improve the codebase and architecture with industry standards and best practices

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with C# and the .NET framework
• EU citizenship or a valid work permit for Estonia
• Fluent English
• FinTech and banking experience is a plus

Required skills

• Cloud-based application development and microservices and distributed architectures
• RESTful APIs and relational databases, preferably SQL Server
• ORMs, preferably Entity Framework; Azure experience is a bonus
• Messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
• AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor or GitHub Copilot (a plus)
