Senior Compliance Officer, Commerce

About the role

Bolt is looking for a senior legal/compliance professional to join its Commerce Compliance team. The role takes proactive global ownership of regulatory compliance of Bolt's payments platform, covering second-line compliance across the EEA and alignment with financial services licensing regulation in 45+ countries. It is a hands-on position for a knowledgeable legal expert managing compliance projects, external counsel and internal stakeholders, supporting the whole company from a financial services regulation point of view.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement financial services regulatory compliance and licensing requirements across the EEA and in 45+ countries
• Validate compliance of business and product changes and expansions
• Manage daily communication with external counsel, internal legal and other stakeholders
• Drive daily compliance management to reduce compliance gaps and support the implementation of compliance requirements
• Support relations with competent authorities and payment service providers
• Monitor regulatory developments to stay ahead of them

Required profile

• Legal qualification and a master's degree in law
• 5+ years of experience in a regulatory environment, law firm or international company
• Solid understanding of financial services regulation, preferably payment services, e-money or fintech
• Strong logical thinking and research skills, with proven project and stakeholder management experience
• Excellent writing and presentation skills, able to explain legal matters to business stakeholders
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and switch priorities quickly
