Senior Credit Risk Modeller

About the role

Swedbank is looking for a Senior Credit Risk Modeller to develop, test and maintain credit risk models in line with banking regulations. The role also involves supporting other units in using the models for risk management and business steering, communicating the methodology behind them, and providing ad hoc analysis and reporting to senior management. It is based in Stockholm, Riga, Tallinn or Vilnius.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain credit risk models according to banking regulations.
• Support other units in understanding and implementing the models for risk management and business steering.
• Communicate the methodological choices and their impact to internal and external stakeholders.
• Work in an international organisation on cross-border projects with experienced colleagues.
• Provide model insights to senior management through ad hoc analysis and reporting.

Required profile

• MSc or PhD in a quantitative field such as statistics, physics, mathematics, engineering or econometrics.
• Previous experience in credit risk modelling, ideally in an IRB-compliant bank under ECB supervision.
• Fluent English, verbal and written.
• Positive, self-driven attitude and excellent analytical skills.

Required skills

• Python, Git and SQL, with experience working with large datasets.
• Statistical and machine learning methods.
