Senior Frontend Engineer (React)

About the role

Luminor, the leading independent bank in the Baltics, is looking for a hands-on Senior Frontend Engineer to design and implement modern payment journeys for private and business customers across the Baltics. The role sits within the Payments scope of the Internet Bank and has the potential to grow into a Lead Engineer position.

Key responsibilities

• Build applications using React and TypeScript, and develop independently deployable microfrontends within a shared Internet Bank platform.
• Design frontend architecture, application boundaries and integration patterns, and build customer journeys involving multiple APIs, asynchronous operations and different authorization levels.
• Integrate with payment, account, customer, authentication, approval and signing services, handling API errors, partial availability, long-running processes and status updates.
• Create reusable components and contribute to shared design-system standards, ensuring code quality, testing, accessibility, security, performance and observability.
• Review code and technical designs, support fellow engineers, contribute to technical direction and take ownership from design through production support.
• Use AI coding assistants and engineering agents for development, testing, documentation, code review and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Strong production experience with React and TypeScript, and experience designing and delivering microfrontend solutions.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with multiple REST APIs and distributed backend systems.
• Good understanding of authentication, authorization and role-based customer journeys, plus experience with frontend security, accessibility, performance and automated testing.
• Ability to evaluate technical options, explain trade-offs and make pragmatic decisions.
• Experience supporting other engineers through technical design and code reviews, and interest in broader technical leadership.
• Practical experience with AI coding assistants or engineering agents, including validation of their results.
• Fluent spoken and written English; the employer looks primarily for candidates already located in the Baltics.

What we offer

• Gross salary of 4,500 to 6,400 EUR per month, depending on experience and competencies.
• Flexible working hours, hybrid work and the option to work from anywhere in the EU, Iceland, Switzerland and the UK (up to 90 days per year).
