Senior Fullstack Engineer - Customer Risk Assessment

About the role

Wise is hiring a Senior Fullstack Engineer for its Customer Risk Assessment team in Tallinn. The team builds a centralized platform that gives Wise visibility into customer financial crime risk by tying together different risk signals into a unified view. Engineers work closely with Product Managers, Analysts and Designers in a cross-functional team, and the role is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Build the full stack: design, develop and deploy resilient backend microservices in Java (Spring Boot) and intuitive, accessible frontends in React and TypeScript.
• Create a 360-degree risk view by building tools that aggregate data across multiple risk topologies so teams can see customer risk profiles.
• Own and develop the common components of risk mitigation, giving Servicing Agents scalable, standardized workflows.
• Break down bottlenecks in servicing and compliance processes and build adaptable platform solutions other product teams can adapt.
• Take full ownership of the product journey, from understanding the problem and planning to shipping to production.

Required profile

• Solid engineering background, ideally in Java, with years of experience deploying and maintaining scalable microservices in the cloud.
• Experience building performant, responsive web applications.
• Ability to design distributed, concurrent systems and understand the trade-offs between stateful/stateless and synchronous/asynchronous architectures.
• Product mindset: breaking complex projects into incremental milestones that deliver customer value.
• Great communication: explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and distributed peers.

What we offer

• Starting salary of EUR 5,750 to EUR 7,083.33 gross per month plus RSUs.
