Senior Integration / Automation Engineer
Bolt · Tallinn
Job description
About the role
Bolt is looking for a Senior Integration / Automation Engineer to build the integrations and event flows that connect its People Technology ecosystem. The role covers HRIS, ATS, performance, payroll, goals, learning and data systems, with a strong focus on major platform migrations and reliable data movement between systems. It creates the dependable integration foundation that keeps people processes running and enables AI agents to act safely across the technology stack.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and operate reliable integrations across the People stack using event-driven, webhook, batch and API-based patterns.
- Lead integration work for platform migrations, including parallel running, data migration, reconciliation and safe cutovers.
- Ensure data integrity through correct data modelling, idempotent operations, safe retries and automated reconciliation.
- Own production reliability through monitoring, alerting, observability, incident investigation and continuous improvement.
- Build secure, documented interfaces for People systems and AI agents, with access controls, validation and auditability.
- Raise engineering standards through documentation, code and design reviews, reusable patterns, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Required profile
- Substantial experience building production integrations with third-party SaaS APIs.
- Experience delivering production system migrations with cutovers, parallel running, reconciliation and backfills.
- Comfortable with workflow automation tools, SQL, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code, and knows when to automate versus build a service.
- Communicates technical trade-offs clearly, mentors other engineers, works with vendors and stakeholders, and handles sensitive personal data carefully.
Required skills
- Event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, eventual consistency, idempotency and fault-tolerant system design.
- Authentication and provisioning standards such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SSO and SCIM.
What we offer
- A competitive salary and stock options.
- Wellness perks and a 1-month paid sabbatical after 5 years.
- Annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
- Hybrid model with at least 12 monthly in-office days; perks may vary by location and role.
