Senior Legal Counsel – Insurance

About the role

Cachet is scaling its insurance infrastructure across Europe and needs a senior legal professional to embed legal expertise directly into product development and market expansion. The role focuses on navigating complex insurance regulations, supporting fast‑moving commercial teams, and turning legal requirements into practical business solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as senior legal partner with a strong focus on insurance and financial‑sector compliance matters.
• Own and drive legal strategy for current and future markets, including internal policy upgrades and governance improvements.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial and bespoke insurance agreements.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal problem‑solving in a fast‑changing environment.
• Collaborate closely with sales and other commercial stakeholders to deliver swift business support.
• Make decisions on insurance‑related legal questions with full ownership while coordinating compliance topics with the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer.

Required profile

• Senior‑level legal professional with strong experience in the insurance sector and regulated environments.
• Cross‑border exposure, scale‑up and new‑product experience, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Solution‑oriented, pragmatic and creative in legal problem‑solving.
• Excellent English; French or German a plus; eligible to work in the EU (location in Tallinn or remote).
• Willingness to learn insurtech specifics on the job.
• Ability to shape legal governance and processes as the business grows.
