Senior Software Engineer (Customer Identity) - .NET

About the role

Riverty, a FinTech company within the Bertelsmann group, is looking for a (Senior) Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join its Customer Identity team in Tallinn, Berlin or Stockholm. The engineer works in an agile product team building and maintaining the Customer Identity Platform, which lets millions of consumers securely use Riverty products while protecting them, merchants, partners and the company from fraud.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document and operate robust, maintainable software for the Customer Identity Platform.
• Take part in the end-to-end product development process and help the team deliver value, usability, feasibility and viability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, architects and other roles to find the right solutions.
• Monitor system health and application metrics for the live-critical platform and investigate and resolve incidents.
• Suggest improvements to new and existing features and propose solutions, taking initiative to improve accessibility, performance, consistency, maintainability and robustness.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and concepts, bringing industry standards and best practices into the codebase and architecture.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience with .NET/C# development.
• Strong expertise in RESTful APIs and backend service design.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems and asynchronous/event-driven communication.
• Hands-on experience with front-end technologies such as TypeScript (React is a plus), or a strong willingness to work full-stack.
• Openness to on-call rotations.
• Fluent English; self-driven, confident with business and technical stakeholders, empathetic and collaborative.

• Azure Cloud, Docker, CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and modern deployment practices.
• Identity and access management: OAuth, OpenID Connect, Auth0, PingOne AIC.
• Plus: Kubernetes, MongoDB, Infrastructure as Code.
