Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Katana is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help scale its AI‑first SaaS platform for inventory and manufacturing. You will design and own high‑volume, event‑driven services that support larger, multi‑channel customers while collaborating closely with product, design, and AI teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems handling heavy data volumes.
• Define architecture, standards, and best practices for the product engineering team.
• Work with event‑driven pipelines, streaming and batch processing, and integrate AI agents into core services.
• Partner with product and design to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and observability of critical services.

Required profile

• Proven experience building large‑scale, high‑throughput backend systems.
• Strong ownership mindset with end‑to‑end responsibility for services.
• Ability to make architectural decisions and mentor peers.
• Comfort working in a remote‑first, fast‑moving environment.
