Software Engineer – Backend & Automation

About the role

Join Ericsson’s Production Technology team in Tallinn to design, develop and maintain software platforms that drive robotic, vision, dispensing and automated manufacturing processes. The role focuses on backend development and industrial automation, supporting both new feature delivery and the modernization of legacy systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated platform software using C#/.NET, implementing new features, APIs and system integrations.
• Design software components for robot motion control, ROS2 integration and hardware interface layers.
• Support DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and secure development environments.
• Collaborate with hardware, automation and production teams to ensure stable deployments and reliable platform functionality.
• Participate in the migration of legacy code towards scalable, modern architectures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Robotics or a related field.
• Proven experience in C#/.NET backend development and API integration.
• Strong understanding of GitHub, DevOps workflows and application architecture.
• Fluent English; knowledge of Estonian or Russian is a plus.
• Background in industrial automation or robotics is preferred.
