Software Engineer - Robotics Platform

About the role

DefSecIntel Solutions builds defence and security systems for Europe's border security, defence and critical infrastructure protection, including autonomous surveillance systems, unmanned surface vessels and counter-UAS solutions. It is looking for a Software Engineer to build mission-critical robotics software that powers real-world autonomous systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robotics software in Python and C++ on ROS 2
• Build software for autonomous systems that integrates radar, cameras and other sensors with data processing pipelines
• Write automated tests and validate software in simulation and on physical hardware
• Troubleshoot and improve system performance, reliability and stability in field conditions
• Take part in architecture decisions and code reviews

Required profile

• Experience writing software that works with physical hardware such as sensors, drones or robots
• Solid grasp of testing and version control

Required skills

• Strong Python development experience
• Hands-on C++ development experience, writing and maintaining C++ code
• Comfortable working in Linux
• Nice to have: ROS/ROS 2, embedded Linux, ARM boards or microcontrollers, video streaming (GStreamer, RTSP), sensor fusion, tracking, coordinate frames and transforms, Docker and CI/CD
