Head of Performance

About the role

The Head of Performance will own Bolt’s performance management system, turning it into a trusted decision‑making tool for talent investment. Reporting to the VP of People & Workplace, you will build analytical infrastructure, provide senior leaders with defensible insights, and ensure performance data drives promotion, reward and workforce planning.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanisms to separate genuine performance signals from rating inflation and manager bias, including anomaly detection across teams.
• Connect individual goals to core business metrics so that goal cascades are financially accountable.
• Lead calibration as a governance function, guaranteeing consistent, evidence‑based, and fair ratings.
• Develop real‑time performance dashboards and translate data into actionable recommendations on promotion, reward and talent investment.
• Partner with org‑design and workforce‑planning initiatives, supplying performance data that influences outcomes.
• Hold managers accountable for honest, differentiated assessments, even when challenging senior leaders.

Required profile

• Background in strategy consulting (MBB or equivalent) combined with experience in a high‑growth technology environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to build robust measurement frameworks.
• Proven track record of influencing senior leadership with data‑driven insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
