Chief Technology Officer

About the role

x7trade is a SaaS platform that helps simplify ICS2 Full ENS compliance and customs clearance for non-EU bulk B2C e-commerce shipments into the EU, and is expanding into B2B customs clearance. It is used daily by customs brokers, freight forwarders, postal operators and logistics providers. The Chief Technology Officer is a full-time, on-site role in the Tallinn Metropolitan Area, responsible for leading the overall technology vision, strategy and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee software development teams and define and maintain the platform architecture
• Ensure the reliability, scalability and security of the cloud-based solutions
• Align technology initiatives with business goals and manage product development roadmaps
• Coordinate cross-functional projects with product, operations and compliance teams
• Establish engineering best practices, mentor technical leaders and improve delivery quality
• Assess new tools and integrations and represent the technology function in strategic discussions with partners and stakeholders

Required profile

• Strong background in software development, with experience leading engineering teams and delivering secure, scalable SaaS platforms
• Previous leadership in a senior technology role, preferably in logistics, customs, fintech or e-commerce
• Relevant university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Required skills

• IT strategy and architecture, including technology roadmaps, system design and cloud infrastructure choices
• Product development and project management in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, APIs, data security and compliance-related systems; familiarity with EU customs or regulatory frameworks is an advantage
