Cost & Process Compliance Controller

About the role

Swissôtel Tallinn is looking for a Cost & Process Compliance Controller. The role has a hotel-wide view, working with the kitchen, bars, stores and back office to help the hotel control its costs and stock. It sits within an international team supported by experienced colleagues, with continuous training and growth opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate cost and stock variances, find the reasons and suggest fixes
• Lead inventories: plan the timetable, follow the counts, reconcile results and explain significant differences
• Review stock movements, write-offs, transfers and returns to ensure they are authorised and documented
• Follow costs against budget and forecast and give management a clear picture of the numbers behind them
• Analyse recipe costs and margins, and keep food recipes and ingredient prices up to date in the costing system (Silverware)
• Support the Head of Finance in keeping internal controls on track, checking they are done on time, properly documented and followed up until closed
• Prepare a clear monthly report on costs, stock and control compliance

Required profile

• Education in finance, accounting, business administration or hospitality management
• Experience in hotel cost control, finance, inventory control, internal control or a similar analytical role
• Good understanding of purchasing, receiving and stock processes
• Strong Estonian and English

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills
• Understanding of hotel systems, from sales and inventory to recipe costing
• Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work independently while cooperating with F&B, Purchasing, Finance and other departments
