Radar Systems Engineer

About the role

Frankenburg is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to solve radar-related challenges across its missile development portfolio at both system and subsystem levels. The engineer translates weapon system requirements into radar specifications and develops and validates solutions that enable autonomous flight, precision targeting and reliable detection. The work is done in a fast-paced environment alongside a team of experts in technology and defence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept definition, design, analysis, testing, qualification and contract execution for advanced radar systems in missile applications.
• Manage technical subcontractors and suppliers, define scopes of work, review deliverables and align them with schedule, cost and quality targets.
• Develop and maintain technical requirement specifications, turning mission needs into measurable performance, safety and reliability criteria.
• Work with performance, systems and integration engineers to optimise interfaces, resolve trade-offs and produce interface control documents (ICDs).
• Drive technical documentation, lead design reviews and coordinate test plans, risk assessments, failure mode analyses and certification activities with suppliers.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Radar Systems, Communications, Applied Physics or a related field; specialisation in radar or signal processing is an advantage.
• Relevant experience in radar or RF, ideally in defence, aerospace or similar demanding environments.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating projects from concept to delivery.
• Willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment.
