Regional Information Security Officer – Europe

About the role

Wise is looking for a Regional Information Security Officer to lead security initiatives across its European legal entities. You will act as the security liaison for the Europe region, helping to reduce information security and technology risk while meeting regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with regional risk, compliance and engineering teams to deliver a tailored risk view for European entities.
• Lead security responses for regional license applications, annual certifications and ad‑hoc audits.
• Support the Group Security risk‑assessment process and prepare risk updates for Europe‑entity committees and the board.
• Evaluate Wise Group security controls against regional regulatory requirements.
• Assist the global security certification programme (ISO 27001, PCI‑DSS, SOC 1 & SOC 2).
• Perform other information‑security and technology‑risk activities as needed.

Required profile

• Significant experience in information security or technology risk management.
• Strong understanding of the European financial‑services regulatory landscape.
• Experience working with regulators is a plus.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC).
• Proven ability to build lasting relationships in a complex international organisation.
• Excellent communication skills, translating technical issues into business language.
• Willingness to undergo a fit‑and‑proper test with the National Bank of Belgium and travel to Brussels if required.
