Senior Software Engineer – Global Project Logistics

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, develop, test and maintain secure, scalable, high‑performing software that powers Kuehne+Nagel’s global project logistics solutions. You will work within a cross‑functional team to deliver digital products that enable the transport of oversized equipment and complex supply‑chain operations for large‑scale industrial projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain full‑stack applications using Python and JavaScript throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Perform quality assurance activities including unit, integration, UI, performance and automated testing.
• Design, optimise and maintain database solutions ensuring performance, reliability and scalability.
• Maintain build pipelines, supporting infrastructure and middleware components for efficient development and deployment.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, Business Analysts and other stakeholders to translate requirements into business‑focused solutions.
• Support operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, release management and third‑level support.

Required profile

• Proven experience in full‑stack web development with Python and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Django REST Framework, Vue.js and Elasticsearch is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices such as Clean Code, code reviews and software craftsmanship.
• Hands‑on experience with modern development methodologies including TDD, BDD, ATDD, pair programming and Agile.
