Senior Software Engineer

About the role

The IC3 Real‑Time Communications (RTC) team builds the core infrastructure that powers meetings, calls and large‑scale events in Microsoft Teams. You will help create a scalable, multimodal platform that extracts semantic meaning from audio, video and screen‑share data, enabling AI‑driven insights for Copilot and other Microsoft 365 services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a unified infrastructure that uses advanced models to derive semantic meaning from meetings, supporting both real‑time and deferred processing.
• Ensure the platform is reusable across multimodal sessions, CloudPC, Digital Employee, W365A, Dynamics and research workloads.
• Balance real‑time and offline processing to deliver richer meeting intelligence at lower cost.
• Lead high‑quality, secure and maintainable software development through rigorous code reviews and testing.
• Own solution architecture, drive design decisions and collaborate across teams to build scalable, resilient and compliant systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, plus proven engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript or Python, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.

Required skills

• Proficiency in programming languages: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python.
• Experience with cloud services, networking programming and large‑scale server applications.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, model evaluation strategies and model‑hosting best practices.
• Hands‑on experience building model training pipelines.
• Strong understanding of security, automation and compliance in software lifecycles.
