Software Engineer – Regulatory Reporting

About the role

pawaTech is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Regulatory Reporting team. You will automate regulatory processes and build scalable backend solutions that support compliance across multiple African markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, efficient backend systems using Java and Spring.
• Automate compliance workflows and integrate with local tax authorities.
• Develop and maintain integrations for multiple jurisdictions.
• Write clean, maintainable code following high coding standards.
• Support sports-team features related to money, taxes, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor production systems to ensure stability and compliance.
• Test systems and processes to guarantee reliability and accuracy.
• Adapt solutions to evolving laws and regulations.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Java, Spring, and backend development.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and SQL databases such as MySQL or TiDB.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
• Familiarity with Liquibase and cloud platforms (e.g., Hetzner Cloud).
• High coding standards, problem-solving ability, and effective teamwork.
