System Analyst

About the role

Askend, a digital transformation partner for public and private sector organisations in Estonia, is looking for a System Analyst to join its team in Tallinn or Tartu. The role covers analysing business processes and stakeholder needs, turning them into system requirements and designs, and working closely with clients and developers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business processes and stakeholder needs and turn them into clear system requirements and solution designs
• Create specifications, process models, data models, user stories and other analysis documentation
• Design and document REST APIs, integrations and interactions with external IT systems
• Collaborate with clients, developers, testers and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle
• Take part in project planning, backlog refinement, scope definition and effort estimation
• Help ensure solutions meet business needs and are delivered according to agreed requirements

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in system and business analysis within software development projects
• Practical experience in Agile development teams (Scrum or similar)
• Experience designing REST APIs and integrating with external IT systems
• Confident working directly with clients, facilitating discussions and managing stakeholder expectations
• Fluent written and spoken Estonian and English
• Nice to have: experience with public sector or government projects, including public procurement tenders; higher education in IT, business or system analysis

Required skills

• UML, BPMN, system modelling and requirements specification
• Basic SQL querying and relational databases
