AML Investigations Team Lead

About the role

Wallester is looking for an experienced AML Investigations Team Lead to own and drive the transaction monitoring and screening operations. In this pivotal position you will guide a dedicated team, ensure high‑quality investigations, and act as the operational anchor for the company’s AML infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of the AML Investigations Team, including task allocation, performance reviews, quality assurance, and training.
• Take full ownership of transaction monitoring and screening workflows and maintain related procedural manuals.
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance and other departments to develop and improve monitoring and screening tools.
• Handle complex alert escalations, providing expert guidance and final assessment for medium‑risk and high‑risk business customers.
• Ensure daily operations comply with internal regulations and contribute to broader AML system development.
• Maintain effective relationships with CRM, customer‑facing units and White‑Label Partners to manage risk‑related tasks efficiently.
• Report regularly to the Head of AML on team performance, operational health and workflow status.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading AML or financial crime investigation teams.
• Strong knowledge of transaction monitoring, screening processes and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess medium and high‑risk activities.
• Effective communication and mentorship abilities to support team development.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with product, compliance and partner teams.
