Compliance Specialist

About the role

Wallester is seeking a Compliance Specialist to support its compliance function and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards across its payment solutions. The role involves monitoring compliance, interpreting regulations, and advising business units on risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the operation of Wallester’s compliance function in line with the governance framework.
• Conduct compliance monitoring activities and internal controls according to the monitoring framework.
• Identify, assess, and report compliance risks and potential deficiencies, documenting findings and proposing remediation.
• Monitor and interpret applicable laws, regulations, regulatory guidelines, and payment‑scheme requirements.
• Perform regulatory gap analyses and translate requirements into practical compliance actions.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments for new and existing products, services, projects and third‑party arrangements.
• Provide proactive compliance advice during product development and cross‑functional projects.
• Develop, review and maintain compliance‑related policies, procedures and internal documentation.
• Support regulatory reporting, respond to supervisory authorities, auditors and external parties, and prepare related documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in compliance monitoring, internal controls and regulatory reporting.
• Strong knowledge of applicable financial regulations, payment‑scheme requirements and risk‑assessment methodologies.
• Ability to conduct regulatory gap analyses and translate legal requirements into operational processes.
• Proven capability to develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
• Excellent analytical and documentation skills to identify and remediate compliance deficiencies.
